Cats are notorious for being aloof and independent but at the same time, they are well-known for being playful creatures and they love to have a good time. They’re intelligent animals and need stimulation to stay sharp. Bored cats can become destructive, so it's essential to give them activities to keep their minds challenged. Playing games with your cat is a great way to keep them mentally stimulated and entertained. It can also help strengthen the bond between you and your feline friend.

Here are a few fun games you can play with your cats to help them stay active and engaged:

  1. Hide and Seek. This is a great game to give your cat a mental workout during meal time and to challenge them to find their food. Another fun option is climbing toys. Cats enjoy climbing, so get them a multi-tiered scratching post with hiding spots.
  1. Catch. This is a classic game that cats love to play. You can use a piece of paper or a toy mouse to play catch with your cat.
  1. Fetch. Just like catch, fetch is a game that can be played with a toy mouse or other object. Throw the toy mouse across the room and let your cat chase it down.
  1. Scratch Post Chase. Place your cat's scratching post in an open area and hide behind a piece of furniture or another object. When your cat scratches the post, pop out from behind the object and run away. Your cat will love chasing you down!
  1. Tunnel Chase. Get a cardboard box and cut an opening in one end large enough for your cat to fit through comfortably. Turn the box on its side and place it in an open area of your home. When your cat enters the tunnel, pop out from the other end and run away!
  1. Hidden Treasure - this is a good game to give your cat a mental workout during meal time. Also, it's a great way to challenge them and make them work hard to find their food. To play, simply hide their food around the house in different places and let them hunt for it. They'll love the challenge of finding their meal and it will provide them with much-needed exercise.
  1. Shell Game - The shell game is a more challenging game that will test your cat's intelligence. Place a treat or toy under three identical cups, then shuffle the cups around and see if your cat can pick the right one.

These are just a few fun games you can play with your cats to help them stay active and engaged. No matter what game you choose to play with your cat, make sure it’s something that they will enjoy. Be patient and make sure they understand the rules before you start playing

Keep in mind that every cat is different, so it’s important to get to know your cat. Whatever games you decide to play, be sure to watch your cat’s body language and listen to their cues. If they seem tired or disinterested, it’s time to take a break.

Also, don’t forget that cats are natural hunters, so playing games is often an instinctive way for them to bond with their human companions. So get out there, get creative and see what other games you can come up with that your cat will love. Don’t forget t have some fun with your feline friend!
